Lighter in weight and offering a more powerful 336kW version of the 4.7-litre Ferrari-derived V8 that powers the standard GranTurismo, the MC is likely to complete the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.5 seconds, easily making it the quickest Maserati production car.

Maserati revealed the GranTurismo S globally before its donor car, the new GranTursimo coupe flagship, had even been delivered in Australia. Due here in early 2009, it's powered by a bigger 4.7-litre V8 with 328kW and 490Nm of torque and rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with Brembo six-piston callipers.

Due to make its global public premiere at the Geneva motor show, with an Australian on sale timing early 2008. The GranTurismo is a full-sized four-seater grand touring coupe motivated by a 303kW 4.2-litre V8, mated to an adaptive automatic transmission.
