Following the lead of its development partner Isuzu, Mazda has updated its BT-50 pick-up truck for the 2022 model year with more variants, more standard features and a new engine choice.

Mazda promised Australia a flagship ute and has delivered one in the form of the $65,990 BT-50 Thunder.

Mazda adds Single Cab and Freestyle Cab body-styles to its all-new BT-50 range with the newadditions kicking off from $36,550 plus on-roads.

Mazda has teamed up with Isuzu Ute to create the all-new BT-50 with virtually nothing other than the badge being carried over from the last model.

Mazda is set to introduce the second and most comprehensive update for its BT-50 pick-up range this month, which will usher in a new front-end design and other changes.
