Make: Renault

Model: Laguna

Released: Jun 2009

Renault will launch a 125kW/270Nm 2.0 Turbo petrol engine to its Laguna hatch and Estate wagon range by mid 2009. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0T petrol engine delivers an averege fuel consumption of just 8.9 litres per 100km.

Make: Audi

Model: Q5

Released: Jun 2009

Audi will add a 125kW/350Nm 2.0 TDI and 199kW/330Nm 3.2 FSI to the Q5 line-up mid 2009. The 2.0 TDI delivers a fuel consumption of 6.8L/100km. In contrast, the 3.2 FSI delivers 9.3L/100km. Both share Audi’s famous ‘quattro’ all-wheel drive system, and seven-speed automated manual transmission.

Make: BMW

Model: 1 Series

Released: Jun 2009

BMW previewed an additional model to its 120d range at the Melbourne show. The 120d with manual transmission will be BMW’s most fuel-efficient model, returning 4.8L/100km. Power is by a 130kW/350Nm from the third-generation 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel. It will be priced at $46,790.

Make: Lexus

Model: RX - 450h

Released: Jun 2009

The new generation Lexus RX hybrid range will morph from the current RX400h into the RX450h thanks to its use of a 3.5-litre V6 instead of the current 3.3-litre six, and first-hand reports claim it will deliver V8-style performance and even better fuel consumption.

Make: Jaguar

Model: XF - Diesel S

Released: Jun 2009

Jaguar will replace its aging 2.7-litre turbo diesel engine in the regular XF model range late in 2009, with a new 3.0-litre twin-turbo 202kW/600Nm engine, which uses 12 per cent less fuel at 6.9L/100km on the European cycle, and can sprint from 0-100km/h in about 6 seconds.

Make: BMW

Model: 7 Series

Released: Jun 2009

BMW Australia will expand its overhauled 7 Series with the introduction of its first diesel-engine 7 Series model. Priced at $198,800, it will only be available in standard wheelbase. The 730d is powered by an 180kW/540Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo alloy six-cylinder engine with six-speed auto transmission.

Make: Audi

Model: A4 - S4

Released: Jun 2009

Audi presented its redesigned S4 sedan and Avant twins at the 2008 Paris show. Brandishing the upcoming A6 facelift’s new 245kW/440Nm 3.0-litre ‘TFSI’ supercharged V6, they ae due to be launched in Europe in March and are slated for an Australian launch in the second half of 2009.

Make: Jaguar

Model: XF - XFR

Released: Jun 2009

Jaguar is expected to launch its performance XFR in late in 2009. Powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre, direct-injection V8 capable of 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds. Exterior changes include a bodykit comprising of a new front bumper with chromed lower air intakes, twin bonnet vents, boot spoiler, and quad exhaust.

Make: Skoda

Model: Superb

Released: Jun 2009

Skoda's new flagship, second-generation Superb sedan, was previewed at the 2008 Geneva show. Based on parent compeny Volkswagen's Passat sedan, the big new Czech-designed four-door luxury lift-back will be powered by petrol and diesel engines, mated to VW’s trick DSG auto.
