Model: Soul

Released: Feb 2014

The second generation of Kia’s funky Soul hatch that was revealed at the 2013 New York motor show maintains the same boxy styling as the popular original. Larger inside and out, the Soul will be available with updated versions of the 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol units and the 1.6-litre diesel when it arrives mid-2014.

Beating its Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG rival to the local market by about 10 months, the hot Audi RS Q3 performance crossover will retail for $81,900 plus on-roads when it arrives. Featuring a sweet 228kW/420Nm 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged petrol, the RS Q3 can race to 100km/h in 5.5 seconds.

Ford’s next-gen Transit will feature the Blue Oval’s ‘kinetic’ design language after being previewed on the recent Tourneo Custom Concept. Ford said the diesel-only Transit will deliver car-like dynamics while providing enhanced ride and comfort.

The futuristic seven-seater is based on the Technospace concept from the 2013 Geneva motor show and features a 2840mm wheelbase that Citroen claims is the longest in its segment.

Toyota will introduce an all-new Corolla sedan to sit alongside its top-selling hatch in early 2014. Featuring an edgier design than the conservative model it replaces, the booted Corolla takes influence from the Furia concept from the 2013 Detroit motor show and will be bigger and quieter that the previous car.
