Released: Sep 2013

The roll-out of Mercedes’ updated E-Class range will culminate in the arrival of the super hot E63 AMG in September. The 2013 iteration will have a far more aggressive look than its predecessor and will be available with a new range-topping S-Model that will pump out 430kW from its 5.5-litre bi-turbo engine and sprint to 100km/h in just 3.6 seconds.

A mid-life update for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class mid-sizer comprises a restyle and new technologies that will appear in the large S-Class later in the year. The sedan and wagon range will launch in Australia mid-year and feature new or upgraded driver aids and safety equipment such as driver fatigue detection and anti-glare adaptive headlights.

Mercedes-Benz will release the revised E-Class coupe and convertible in September, a few months after the introduction of the sedan and wagon. The W212 E-class Cabriolet is set to replace the CLK Cabriolet. Based on the two-door C207-series E-class Coupe, the Cabriolet – the fourth member of the new E-class range is likely to reflect powertrains of the E-class Coupe, with an entry-level 1.8-litre ‘250 CGI’ engine, to the range topping 5.5-litre V8 E500 Cabriolet.

MERCEDES-BENZ will fast-track the all-new E63 AMG sedan for Australianshowrooms in December, priced at $234,900. As before the heart of the new E63 lies a slightly more powerful 386kW (up from 378kW) version of AMG’s 6.2-litre petrol V8, which produces the same 630Nm of peak torque and revs to 7200rpm.

Mercedes-Benz Australia is investigating the possibility of importing a limited number of the world’s most powerful production estate, following the European reveal of the new E55 AMG Estate. Special order-only, it packs the same 350kW/700Nm supercharged 5.5-litre V8 as the E55 AMG sedan.

Launched in October, the all-new S211 E-class Estate range comprises five models: from the $96,900 E240 Classic with 130kW 2.6-litre V6, to the $128,900 E320 Avantgarde featuring a 165kW 3.2-litre V6. A longer rear overhangs than the new E-class sedan brings cargo capacity to 1950 litres.
