Mercedes-Benz will debut a new version of its SL-Class grand tourer in the first half of 2016. A comprehensive front end cosmetic makeover will be accompanied by mild tweaks to the cabin, along with upgrades to the base car’s powertrain numbers.

A new entry point into Mercedes-Benz’s roadster range, the SL400 replaces the outgoing SL350. The new convertible will bring with it a host of updates to the rest of the SL-Class line-up which will include a bump in power.

Mercedes Benz-AMG division launched two models that will top the revised SL range. The SL65 AMG and SL63 AMG both feature new front masks. The SL63 AMG replaces the S55K and offers 386kW/630Nm, while the range-topping SL65 AMG continues with a 450kW/1000Nm twin-turbocharged V12.

Mercedes-Benz will bring the performance of its SL large coupe to new heights when it releases the flagship SL65 AMG. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 offering 450kW, it makes the SL350, SL500, SL55 AMG and even the 368kW SL600 V12 look and feel ordinary.

Bringing six-cylinder power to the top-end SL roadster, the 180kW 3.7-litre SL350 goes on sale in November and retails for $209,900 - almost $90,000 cheaper than the SL500. It retains much of the V8's spec, including Sensotronic Brake Control, but misses out on the Active Body Control system as standard.
