Make: Mercedes-Benz

Model: C-Class - C63 AMG

Released: Mar 2008

Mercedes' performance arm AMG is expected to launch its new C-class range in 2008, powered by a new 6.2-litre V8 producing about 370kW/630Nm. The AMG C63 range features revised suspension, high-performance brakes, better aerodynamics, plus interior and exterior design elements.

Make: Subaru

Model: WRX - STI

Released: Mar 2008

Subaru will launch its new Impreza STi range in 2008. With pumped-out wheel-arches and a wider track, only the bonnet, front doors, roof and rear hatch are carried over from the regular WRX. Powered by a revised 221kW/407Nm 2.5-litre turbo boxer engine. Two different versions will be offered.

Make: Citroen

Model: C4 - HDi

Released: Mar 2008

Citroen is not ignoring its volume-selling C4 hatchback model and plans to adopt the C4 Picasso’s 2.0-litre HDi turbo-diesel engine and six-speed automatic gearbox to consolidate sales of the existing C4 1.6 HDi. A local release is expected in the final quarter of 2007.

Make: Citroen

Model: C4 Picasso

Released: Mar 2008

A five-seat version of the C4 Picasso is under consideration, although Australian importer Ateco plans to assess the new seven-seater’s sales performance in Australia before a decision is made. If the five-seater C4 Picasso gets the green light, we could see it by about March 2008.

Make: Chrysler

Model: Sebring - Convertible

Released: Mar 2008

Chrysler's four-seater Sebring convertible will be launched in Australia first quarter 2008, comprising a choice of three engines (a 124kW/220Nm 2.4-litre four with four-speed auto, a 140kW/259Nm 2.7-litre V6 and a 103kW/310Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.

Make: Jeep

Model: Cherokee

Released: Mar 2008

Jeep's mid-sized Cherokee rock-hopper will be replaced for 2008, and will follow the Grand Cherokee flagship - which was replaced in 2005 - upwards in size. Known as Liberty in the US and renewed for Australia in January 2003, the Cherokee enters its third generation as the KK-series.

Make: Mini

Model: Clubman

Released: Mar 2008

Mini confirmed production plans for a five-door wagon bodystyle at the 2007 Geneva motor show. The Clubman is an elongated version of the Mini with side-hinged rear barn doors. The Mini Clubman goes on sale in Europe late this year, but Australian customers will have to wait until 2008.

Make: Maserati

Model: GranTurismo

Released: Mar 2008

MASERATI has revealed its rejuvenated Italian brand’s all-new flagship model, the GranTurismo coupe. Due to make its global public premiere at the Geneva motor show, with an Australian on sale timing early 2008. The GranTurismo is a full-sized four-seater grand touring coupe motivated by a 303kW 4.2-litre V8, mated to an adaptive automatic transmission.

Make: Fiat

Model: Ritmo

Released: Mar 2008

The Bravo hatch will be Fiat's second car model to arrive here since the Italian brand's relaunch in 2006 with the Punto - but the Stilo replacement will be called Ritmo here. Expect 78kW and 90kW versions of a new 1.6-litre JTD turbo-diesel, plus a new 132kW 1.9 JTD and 1.4-litre petrol engines.

Make: Honda

Model: Accord

Released: Mar 2008

A replacement for Honda's larger "American" Accord is expected to appear at the 2008 Detroit motor show in January. A confirmed two-pronged Accord strategy will continue here and in New Zealand. As is the case now, the Accord and Euro models will be separate in size, appearance and price.

Make: Audi

Model: A5

Released: Mar 2008

Audi will offer a 3.2 V6 FSI quattro version to its A5 coupe model, which will come with a Tiptronic transmission as well as four-wheel drive, for an extra $5000. It will join the A5 turbo-four and S5 V8 coupe models launched here in late 2007 in the first quarter of 2008.
