Great Wall Motors will release a facelifted version of its V240 crew-cab ute in the first quarter of 2010, and will take the opportunity to expand the line-up to include a single-cab and one-tonne cab-chassis body styles to attract new buyer types.

Released: Jul 2010

Renault is expected to freshen up its Koleos compact SUV range, by mid 2010. With exterior changes to the front and rear bumpers, lamps and the adoption of new colors. Interior trim and equipment upgrades are also expected.

Model: Cerato - Hatch

Released: Jul 2010

Hot on the heels of the redesigned XM Sorento, Kia will launch the long-awaited hatchback version of the TD Cerato sedan in mid-2010. It will be a two-box five-door shape with an Audi A3-esque appearance, according to Kia, powered by the same 115kW/194Nm 2.0-litre engine as the sedan.

Model: Cooper - JCW WC50

Released: Jul 2010

A Definite start for Australian release in 2010, are 10 examples of the John Cooper Works World Championship 50 (or JCW WC50) Mini. Just 250 examples of the piping-hot limited-edition Mini will be made globally, to celebrate John Cooper’s Formula One world championship in 1959.

Make: Mitsubishi

Model: ASX

Released: Jul 2010

Mitsubishi Australia is expected to introduce an all-new RVR compact SUV based on the Concept-cX by mid-2010. Sitting below the Outlander, the five-seater will compete with Nissan’s Dualis and Hyundai’s Tucson. Power is via a 2.0-litre petrol engine, mated to both manual and dual-clutch auto transmissions.

Model: Punto

Released: Jul 2010

An upgraded Punto range is due to be launched late 2010. Minor interior and exterior trim changes are expected. To be available in three and five-door variants, the revised Punto will offer carryover 1.3-litre and two 1.9-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesels, plus a 1.4-litre SOHC four-cylinder petrol engine.

Model: Megane - RS250

Released: Jul 2010

The French brand will launch the Megane RenaultSport 250 hot-hatch here in 2010. The three-door-only Megane RS 250 will pack a 186kW turbocharged four to rival VW’s Golf GTI. Expect the hottest Megane yet to emerge from France to be priced above the current Megane RS 225 three-door ($37,490).

Model: MiTo - Quadrifoglio

Released: Jul 2010

Alfa Romeo will launch a new model variant to its MiTo range by mid-2010 - the Cloverleaf model-leader, which is powered by a 125kW 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo engine, via a new six-speed manual transmission. A self-shifting DDCT gearbox, Alfa’s first double-clutch transmission, is also expected to be added to the MiTo range.

British sportscar brand Aston Martin will bring its sensational four-door Rapide to Australia in April. Priced from $366,000, the direct rival for Porsche’s Panamera and Mercedes-Benz’s CLS is powered by a 355kW 6.0-litre V12 mated to a six-speed automatic.

Released: Jul 2010

Hyundai launched its all-new i20 light hatch at the 2008 Paris show, which replaces the Getz in Europe but will run alongside it here to help tackle the Toyota Yaris and Mazda2. Built in India, Hyundai is confident the i20 will achieve a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Expect a range of petrol and diesel engines.

Renault is expected to launch its next-generation Kangoo commercial range around July, taking on the popular Volkswagen Caddy. The new van will be significantly larger and more refined than the Mk1 X76 Kangoo – which dates back to 1997.

The Prancing Horse supercar brand’s big launch for 2010 will be the 458 Italia in June. A replacement for Ferrari’s entry-level F430 coupe, the 458 packs a 4.5-litre V8 and dual-clutch automated manual transmission that delivers 0-100km/h sprints in a claimed 3.4 seconds.
