Released: May 2004

Based on the $129,500 S4 sedan, the $132,500 Avant wagon will be available here from May. While the S4 Cabriolet won't appear until the 2004 Sydney motor show in October, the high-performance V8 Avant offers a point of difference from BMW's M3 range, which does not comprise a wagon variant.

Model: 6 Series - convertible

Released: May 2004

To join the 645Ci coupe on sale here from May 2004, the 645Ci convertible features the same cutting-edge BMW technology and blistering 245kW V8. While the all-new 6 Series coupe was first revealed at Frankfurt 03, the convertible debuted at Detroit 04 and will attract an "appropriate premium".

Model: 6 Series - coupe

Released: May 2004

BMW's born-again 6 Series coupe debuted at the 2003 Frankfurt show and the single-model 645Ci will be joined on sale in Australia in May 2004 by the 645Ci convertible, which premiered at the 2004 Detroit show. The E63 645Ci will be available in limited numbers, priced at $203,000.

Model: XJ - XJ6

Released: May 2004

Jaguar Australia will revive the historic XJ6 nameplate when it adds a six-cylinder variant to its XJ large sedan range in May. Featuring similar standard equipment to its V8 siblings - including satellite-navigation, television and telephone - the XJ6 will command a smaller $150,000 pricetag.

Released: May 2004

The latest iterations of HSV's flagship coupe and sedan models debuted at the 2004 Melbourne show - six months after the facelifted Y Series 2 range went on sale. Deliveries begin in May. Expect Ohlins shocks, new steering, the same 300kW V8 and pricing of $97,500 (GTS sedan) and $98,500 (GTS Coupe).
