BMW’s Z4 roadster will receive a minor update with some subtle cosmetic changes, including new LED headlights, redesigned vents and new alloy wheels. New colours and more customisation options will also be on offer for the sporty convertible when it arrives in Australia in the middle of the year.

BMW’S Z4 roadster will become the first model in Australia to come with the brand’s new N20 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, replacing the old straight-six and mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission to yield slightly better performance and significant fuel and CO2 savings.

Equipped with an improved six-cylinder, twin-turbo engine, the range-topping Z4 will shoot from 0-100km/h in just 4.8 seconds. It will feature launch control, a super-fast seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and agressive M Sport bodykit.

Released: May 2010

On sale here in May is the Z4 sDrive35is, which packs a 250kW/450Nm (500Nm during overboost) version of the standard Z4 35i’s twin-turbo straight six, and adds an M bodykit and M suspension tune for about $130,000.The optimised engine punches the Z4 35is to 100km/h in a claimed 4.8 seconds.

BMW will launch its new Z4 Roadster range in May. Available like its 3 Series Convertible sibling with a two-piece retractable hard-top. The new Z4 two-seater line-up opens with a 2.5-litre Z4 sDrive23i, followed by the Z4 sDrive30i 3.0-litre petrol six. The range top Z4 will be the sDrive35i, 3.0-litre twin-turbo six.

Released: Oct 2006

Due on sale here in October, BMW's Z4 M Coupe will be priced at $127,200 - $2300 less than the Z4 M Roadster and $2800 less than the M3 coupe, with which it shares its 252kW/365Nm 3.2-litre inline six. The Z4 3.0si Coupe is priced at $87,900 as a six-speed manual and $90,500 as a six-speed auto.
