Euro-designed and built second-gen C-HR is almost here, the three-variant range combining Toyota’s fifth-gen hybrid driveline with 1.8- or 2.0-litre options. Front- and all-wheel drive configurations are available, all running continuously variable transmissions. Flagship model outputs 145kW.

It’s Toyota’s first BEV in Australia and will be available in two configurations: a 150kW/266Nm single-motor front-wheel drive (FWD) and a 160kW/337Nm dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD). Both run a 71.4kWh lithium-ion battery with AC charging at 11kW and DC at 150kW.

Possibly one of the most anticipated new models for 2023, the Corolla with 224kW, 1.6-litre turbo triple with AWD is a maybe in February as some are already in dealerships. No pricing details are available but based on overseas pricing, could kick off in the vicinity of $65,000.

Due last month but delayed until February. Priced from $49,790 + ORC, revised Kluger scores a multitude of improvements to safety, technology and performance for 2023. Now with a 198kW/420Nm, 2.4-litre turbo petrol four cylinder engine replacing the 3.5 V6 on all non-hybrid grades.

Committed drivers can now specify a six-speed manual in GR Supra or an eight-speed auto at no extra cost. In Supra GT form that’s $87,000 and in the GTS trim it’s $97,000 plus ORCs, a $500 increase over the outgoing range.
Talk about anticipation. Toyota’s new gen’ GR86 sports coupe lobs September in GT and GTS, with the new 2.4-litre engine and improvements across the board. Priced between $35-40,000 + ORC.
